Os Escolas de línguas ao meu lado.

I've never really learned a second language and, in fact, did not do well when I took the required Spanish classes in high school. I thought I was a lost cause. After moving to Lisbon I decided to enroll with Lisbon Language Cafe and I couldn't be more impressed. First of all, because the class size is so small and because they focus on speaking/engagement, I really got to know the other students - it was just so much more fun than I could have ever expected. I came with hope and left with new friendships and the foundational skills needed to navigate daily life here in Portugal (give and receive directions, order food, communicate with doctors, etc...). I don't normally write reviews but feel compelled to do so for Lisbon Language Café because of how good my experience was. I am excited to continue my education using this school and honestly feel that the teachers are vested in ensuring my success. Muito obrigado por me ensinarem português! I have been taken Portuguese lessons at Lisbon Language Café for around two years. I started from the very beginning with a 6-week A1 intensive course and afterwards moved to private lessons with Frederico. I have loved my classes with Frederico and have really been able to improve my Portuguese (hopefully he would agree!). He is an experienced teacher and clearly takes the time to prepare each lesson catered to my needs. He introduces new lessons at the right pace and challenges me to think through grammatical structures that are a bit difficult for me. I would highly recommend Frederico and Lisbon Language Café, I've had a great experience and see myself taking lessons here until I am fully able to master the Portuguese language. I have been working with my teacher Frederico for 2 years online. Working with him has accelerated my abilities and confidence in Portuguese. The best teaching I have had whist learning the language. I have been having one to one lessons with Frederico for some time both online and in person. He is always well prepared and challenging. I enjoy my lessons and also feel I am developing my language skills. This is not the first language I have learned or taken tuition in and I would definitely recommend this service as one of the best. Taking both private lessons with Frederico and also participating in two conversational group lessons per week really helped me improve my Portuguese in a way that was interesting and fun. As an English language teacher myself, I got a lot of new ideas for how to structure conversation classes. I highly recommend Lisbon Language Cafe if you want a stimulating, interactive, and fun way to learn language. I thoroughly enjoyed all the other students and instructors I worked with. I have really enjoyed learning Portuguese with the Lisbon Language Café. My teacher Frederico has been great at creating a friendly and relaxed learning environment. The Lisbon Language Café's methodology gets you speaking and writing right away, making the classes fun and varied. Furthermore they some good podcasts and a interactive learning platform for developing your skills. I can definitely recommend the Lisbon Language Café. I took the A1 Portuguese from scratch course with Frederico and I really enjoyed it. The class was small ( 5 people) and every student had equal opportunity to practice and ask as many questions as they want. Frederico and Melissa were very patient and took their time explaining everything. The class was fun, the group was young and the teachers had a sense of humor. In two weeks you cover the material that is needed for basic communication in Portugal and you learn useful things that will help you get around in this country. I highly recommend it! Lisbon Language Cafe it's my second school and would recommend it everyone who wants to learn Portuguese! The individual classes are focused on speaking and practising grammar which you learn from an exercise book (created specifically for this course). I took individual curse and my teacher, Melissa was very supportive, kind, friendly and awesome person. I really enjoyed every classes with her. I completed the A1 Portuguese course with Frederico and it was well worth it! Small class size (mine was 4 students total) means you get a lot of opportunities to practice. The class was fun, you cover an extensive amount of material, and by the end of the two weeks you'll feel comfortable speaking and traveling your way through Portugal and be ready to continue your Portuguese studies.
